Westminster City Council
Influencing and Communicating Online
Confidence and Presence on Screen
Beginning
Working with managers and project leads across Westminster City Council, Ben’s focus was on helping participants communicate with greater confidence and influence in an online environment. Many brought a strong service mindset, deep expertise and a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for others, but found it more challenging to advocate for their own ideas, initiatives and recommendations in front of senior decision-makers.
Middle
Delivered entirely online, the masterclass explored the relationship between communication and the online context. Participants developed a greater awareness of the mind-body connection and how confidence, credibility and presence can be communicated through a screen. Through practical exercises focused on non-verbal communication, vocal presence, audience engagement and influencing skills, they learned how to make better use of the online environment, turning what is often seen as a limitation into an opportunity to communicate with greater clarity and impact.
End
Participants left with practical tools to strengthen their online presence, communicate their ideas more confidently and advocate more effectively for the work they cared about. By combining greater self-awareness with a more intentional approach to communication, they were better equipped to engage senior stakeholders and make their voices heard in important conversations.
