Begining

Starbucks UK was bringing together 1,500 store managers and partners for a high-energy away day; a rare opportunity to inspire, align and connect.

We were asked to support the 15 leaders who would be presenting, to ensure both their content and style of delivery was engaging, clear and impactful. We offered 2 short workshops to craft compelling content and empower each speaker to deliver it in a way that was both personal and powerful so as to leave a lasting impression on the audience.

We delivered a tailored programme of support; designed to build both what was said and how it was said — combining strategic storytelling with practical performance coaching.

Our Conference Curation Workshop started by using storytelling techniques to challenge the leaders to look at how their presentation would sit alongside everyone else’s. This avoided duplication, ensured message balance, and aligned every contribution with Starbucks’ wider goals. Leaders were guided to identify what they were each best able to communicate to their audience and to what end. This encouraged authenticity and a means to bring themselves to their content so the audience in turn would connect to it too.

They then took part in our Presence and Delivery Workshop which helped to bring out the personality, confidence and presence of each speaker so they could hold the large audience and feel comfortable on stage. The presenters were introduced to practical techniques to ensure they could naturally and purposefully use their voice and physicality to carry their words, thoughts and emotions to the partners and best represent themselves as leaders at Starbucks.

For those wanting extra polish, we offered individual coaching sessions to fine-tune content and boost performance ahead of the big day.

End

It was observed and commented on that the overall quality of each speaker and the presentations as a whole were, significantly improved compared to previous events.

Each leader not only knew what they wanted to say but why it mattered — to them, to Starbucks, and to the audience. Because of our storytelling process, their messages were structured with a clear narrative, delivered with authenticity, and aligned around a shared purpose. Presenters brought their whole selves to the stage, embodying Starbucks’ leadership values in a memorable, human way.
