Book for our Taster Workshop:

The Body Speaks

Tuesday 18 October 12:30 - 1:30pm

Improve trust and engagement when communicating online.

How involved are your listeners during an online meeting?

How connected to them do you feel?

Would you like to earn genuine trust within seconds and sustain active participation throughout your online event or meeting?

Led by Ben Joiner, The Body Speaks is a highly engaging masterclass style taster, designed to help people learn the fundamentals in building rapport and influence when communicating online.

Find out how leveraging the use of the screen, body language and enhancing vocal presence offers massive gains in trust and engagement from those we communicate with.

Why body language? The human body is a highly sensitive social communication system. On a subtle, non-verbal level, trust and respect is gained or lost by how we move, breathe and sound. Our behaviour is physical. It can be used for building positive relationships over a short space of time. As humans, our reliance on this bio-feedback of physical and vocal behaviour has enabled us to collaborate and create a sense of community for thousands of years. When we relate to others, the body ‘speaks’…

Why voice? How we breathe and sound reveals what we feel. This is passed on to our listeners. We can enliven others, inspire or switch them off with the tone of our voice. As we communicate more online, we rely increasingly on the resonance and tone of our voice to build a connection to others and keep people engaged.

What can I expect from this taster? This practical sample of our training will show how theWholeStory can support your colleagues to make the most of their physical and vocal presence, while communicating online, to put them at a significant advantage when looking to build trust and collaborate with their colleagues, clients or stakeholders. Ben will show how just a few adjustments to how we move, speak and frame the screen can influence others favourably and lead to positive outcomes.

This practical 1 hour session covers:

  • How to use non-verbal behaviour to build trust and rapport in a short space of time

  • How to use voice in a way that enlivens a message

  • Making movement and vocal tone congruent with the spoken word for maximum impact
