Storytelling: Your Communication Toolkit

We look forward to working with you in 2026. We love our work and so the best way to celebrate 20 years of theWholeStory is with workshops. And we are pleased that we can do them with you.

Over the course of this 2 part workshop, we are going to apply what makes storytelling effective onto how you prepare and put a piece of communication together, how you deliver it and how you can think and speak at the same time.

You’ll explore techniques to make your communication stronger in both its form and content. The 2 half days will give you a set of tools that can become part of your everyday thinking and speaking, to make communication easier, more efficient and effective.

The techniques will help you to

•engage your audience

•be authentic and memorable

•clarify the meaning and purpose of what you need to say

•proactively motivate your audience

But, to be clear this workshop is not about creating slides or decks. It’s about you speaking confidently, comfortably, authentically and with purpose, so you are heard and impress your audience. You will work with a set of practical tools that make us clearer, that get people believing in you, that initiate action, that make content memorable.

The workshop involves: talking in pairs, group discussion, explanations of techniques, you making some notes and speaking in pairs (in break out rooms) to try the techniques out to see what they do for you.

You each need to come to the workshop with content to work with, so that by the end of the workshop you can have a strong first draft of a presentation and a good practical understanding of how each technique is useful to you.
