Education and Schools

Drawing on our experience and ongoing work with schools we can design and deliver storytelling performance, activities, training and workshops for visiting schools and other educational groups.

The benefits of children and students creating, listening and telling stories, especially within a museum or gallery setting, range from the expansion of vocabulary, to motivating reading and writing, to sharing knowledge or exploring ideas and issues relating to exhibitions or collections, inspiring further learning in a fun and energetic way and of course stimulating creativity and imagination.

We can provide workshops for teaching staff to help them initiate curiosity and enquiry for your museum /exhibition/collection with their pupils, using a variety of storytelling techniques or creative activities.
How Storytelling can enhance your organisation, property, staff and volunteers:

Do staff and volunteers deliver tours in a natural, engaging and enthusiastic style?

Do your staff and volunteers know how to respond to visitor’s questions?

What is the principal narrative of your property or museum and are the stories told by staff and volunteers coherent with it?

Can staff improvise and be sensitive to different audiences and edit themselves accordingly?

Do staff and volunteers have an active interest in the people and stories related to your museum or property, from the past and present?

Do staff and volunteers contribute to creating a relationship between the museum or property and the visitor?
