Genactis, a pharmaceutical research based consultancy, wanted to use a storytelling workshop to improve face-to-face communication and encourage proactive behaviour within the office. Many members of the team presented to clients and wished to update and enhance their techniques to make information fresh and interesting.
We provided an intense, half-day workshop that challenged each member of the team to step up to the table and commit to a highly participatory and active role. Autobiographical stories were created and, over the process of elaboration, participants worked together contributing to the development, content and style of each other's stories. Throughout, individuals were asked to draw out connections and parallels between the workshop and how they communicate at work.
By sharing creativity, vulnerability and by taking on a new learning challenge together participants left their comfort zone, overcame habits and put their fears to one side. The team finished the workshop with a variety of tools to communicate more efficiently and imaginatively with each other, with clients, during research and presentations.
