Situation:
The Wallace Collection, a national museum in a London town house, were seeking to attract new visitors, especially from their hard to reach audiences. They required an activity that would be suitable to under 5s, for whom there had previously been no provisions at all.
Solution:
The Wallace Collection commissioned us to write them a 30 minute story to be part of their 19th Century Christmas celebratory day. The storytelling would take place within a gallery, have an interactive nature and reflect the Wallace Collection’s exhibitions.
Results:
Over three performances, a series of visitors were thrilled to discover similarities and differences, in Christmas celebrations and traditions, between our lives today and those experienced by the founders of the Collection. Young visitors and their guardians, who had never visited the Collection before, were delighted to find activities provided especially for them and looked forward to future visits.
