Situation:
MHT wanted a fun, useful and inclusive session for up to 200 staff members from different levels, roles and offices. The session would need to encourage a positive culture of change and a proactive attitude to implementing the organisation's Visions for the next 4 years.
Solution:
We provided an intense, short workshop that challenged participants to collaborate in small groups to create a story about how their Visions could affect a service user. Over the process of elaborating the stories, participants worked together to identify who this service user might be and how specific events and people from the association could change their life. 10 MHT staff, trained by us to guide and encourage the participants, assisted the workshop facilitation.
Results:
The positive stories helped the participants to see the importance of their work and how the Visions could be used to help them achieve more. Participants appreciated how stories could be used to broaden their perspectives, planning and the reach of their work. The interactive nature of the workshop allowed participants to meet each other and practice a more creative method and process of developing an idea.
