INSET, Workshops, Training and Conferences
Our training and workshops offer teachers, classroom assistants, nursery staff, parents and child care practitioners practical applications and approaches to storytelling for all ages.
Learn how to tell stories, create stories and use storytelling and related story creation activities to improve the listening, speaking and writing of children and students.
Use storytelling to enhance interaction between and with children, leading them to an enriching, confidence building experience; involving vocabulary, expression, language, creativity, emotional intelligence, sociability and thinking.
We can offer training based upon our existing sessions and can design workshops to specific needs.
Our participatory INSET and workshops can help in many ways:
- tell memorable stories engagingly and confidently without a book
- inspire new classroom activities and schemes of work
- improve and unlock participants' creative, communication and language skills
- build on interactive skills towards creating stories with children
- reanimate story-time and nursery rhymes
We recommend group sizes of between 6 to 14 participants.
Participants will be provided with handbooks to accompany the workshops.
Workshops can be delivered over a minimum of 90-minutes, through to full days. Greater and more sustainable results are gained from longer workshops.
INSETs can accompany our Storytelling performance to offer a selection of follow on activities and can part of a Residency or partnership involving children, teachers and parents.
Look at our Education Case Studies for more details.
We have delivered training for teachers and early years practitioners through Westminster, Croydon and Islington LAs, along with schools countrywide, and partnering Kensington Palace and the Tower of London.
