Storytelling Performance

Exciting and fun storytelling performance to enchant and engage children of all ages.

The benefits of our storytelling performances include:
- the expansion and modeling of sentence structure, vocabulary and language.
- motivating reading and writing, listening and speaking.
- sharing knowledge and stimulating independent thinking.
- exploring ideas, issues and cultures.
- inspiring further learning in a fun and energetic way.
- stimulating creativity and imagination.
- stimulate and build creative and expressive confidence.

Our repertoire of favourite stories includes stories from around the world, creation myths and fables, trickster tales and stories of death and dire consequence.

Storytelling performance is a great way to springboard into other work, we are happy to provide follow-on activities for teachers to lead in the classroom, and offer INSET to teach a selection of easily applied and adaptable Story Making or Storytelling techniques.

Storytelling performances vary in length from 30-minutes to 100-minutes, depending on age and group size.

Stories are chosen to ensure they are appropriate to each audience, from Nursery to Year 8.

Typically, in a day it is possible to have between 3 - 5 sessions, we do our best to fill the day for you and see as many forms as we can, without losing quality.

Storytelling can take place in the classroom or school hall, with up to 60 children.

Storytelling Performance Examples:
Nursery and Reception:
The children help the storyteller to build and take part in a story about meeting a selection of Nursery Rhymes or favourite books.

Key Stage 1:

Years 3+4, 45 minutes of compelling, dynamic storytelling performance, of engrossing animal folktales from around the world.

Years 5-8, up to 100 minutes storytelling and workshop, to include performance of traditional folktales to model stories, before setting written tasks for the pupils to undertake, and the sharing of some of the work created.
