National Day Nurseries Association
Storytelling Training for Early Years Practitioners

Situation:
The National Day Nurseries Association is a national charity that aims to enhance the development and education of children in their early years, through the provision of support services to its members. We approached NDNA as we believed the training we offer Early Years practitioners would be of great benefit to their members.

Solution:
NDNA invited us to come and showcase our work to them in Huddersfield. They invited Early Years practitioners, alongside members of their staff, to participate in a workshop and to discuss ways in which our practice and techniques could be used to greatest effect. All participants were delighted with the skills they had learnt and particular mention was made regarding our facilitation expertise, in ensuring all present, regardless of ability or confidence levels, participated fully and left feeling positive about their achievements.

Results:
NDNA are currently applying for funding that would bring our training to practitioners from a variety of settings within the Huddersfield area. Following evaluation from this regional training, they hope to secure further funding to allow them to offer our workshops nationally to their members.

"No one was left out. Everyone was given a chance to speak, normally it’s the usual crowd. I now feel I am better at creative writing. I used to put a bunch of adjectives together and hope for the best. Now I know when and where to use them."
